Public Policy

Home » Public Policy : Introduction

Since its inception, Enterprise has helped craft innovative policy solutions to support affordable housing and community development. We work on federal public policy as well as state and local public policy. Enterprise supports innovative and effective policies through testimony and public comment. Learn more about Enterprise Public Policy through our Legislative Fact Sheets and Bill Summaries.

Enterprise is recognized and relied on by both political parties as a national leader in:

  • Affordable housing
  • Economic development
  • Community reinvestment
  • Sustainability

Federal and state governments play an important role in the revitalization of distressed communities. Policymakers must continue to provide sufficient, flexible resources to community development organizations so that private-sector dollars can be leveraged for revitalization efforts. Policymakers also need to continue to develop policies that promote and encourage investment in our distressed communities.

Our 2010 Policiy Priorities

Our 2010 policy priorities include: encouraging green development, supporting tax incentives, supporting community stabilization policies, expanding investments in capacity building and encouraging financial and regulatory reform.

Enterprise Community Partners, Inc. and Local Initiatives Support Corporation surveyed current, former and potential institutional investors, as well as syndicators and brokers active in the housing credit industry. This report was jointly undertaken by Ernst & Young’s Tax Credit Investment Advisory Services group and its Quantitative Economics and Statistics group. Download the Survey (PDF, 2MB)
